Enjoyable to read --- AND helpful for those with writer's block, 20 Aug 2006
The last book I brought about writer's block was a terrible waste of money, and time. It did everything but motivate me to write. Not so with this book. Outwitting Writers' Block: And Other Problems of the Pen is a light-hearted and encouraging read for anyone who suffers from writer's block. Covering the majority of causes of writer's block, it looks in depth at the problem and suggests helpful tips and ideas to get the creative juices flowing, or simply helps to take off the preasures writers often put upon themselves. Aimed at all types of writers - from novel writers, to screenplays, and even articles, the writing is fun, to-the-point and enjoyable. Even the sections that weren't relevant to my particular cause of writer's block were enjoyable and interesting to read. Filled with humour, writing prompts, tips and stories-of-success from other writer's suffering from writer's block, this is definitely a worthy read.
