5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful and rewarding but techincal and envolved pieces, 27 April 2002
By A Customer
This contains answers to the questions you might have about where oragami evolved from. Its mathematical bases too. I was disappointed to see images in the book that were not actually diagramed. There is some work on your part to create the pieces, but well worth the effort. This is not for the beginner.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must have for anyone interested in Origami, 30 Jul 1998
By A Customer
I have not yet received this new release, but I have purchased and given away 4 of the 1987 versions, only to find that I could no longer find it in the bookstores. The book covers most forms of Origami, including a clever and simple space shuttle, simple to advanced Modular forms, including a 900+ piece model to challenge the most ardent origamist. I own over a dozen Origami books, and have read dozens more, this is certainly my favorite.

5.0 out of 5 stars Full of great designs, 11 Sep 2006
Text: Interesting and encouraging. More than in most origami books. Made me want to try out even the more mundane designs.

Diagramming: Mostly extrememly good. Can sometimes be a bit confusing around the end of the geometric designs - possibly inevitable as they have complex end stages. Expects you to use your brain.

Designs: Incredible. A lot of variety, both in end product and in the style of folding. Complex shapes formed formed in remarkably few moves. Some difficult folds are neccessary for the more complicated designs, but in general they're remarkably easy.

Minor irritation: Well, there was going to be one. The spiral snail shell in the photograph is an improvement on the one diagrammed, and this only mentioned in the fine print at the end of the instructions.
