Macmillan New Writing
Macmillan New Writing is an innovative idea from the Macmillan
publishing group. It is dedicated solely to publishing authors’ first
novels which have been submitted to Macmillan in the UK, usually direct rather
than through an agent. In the course of 2005 Macmillan assessed thousands of
manuscripts and selected six for the launch in April 2006, followed by one a
month thereafter. The list publishes the best of first fiction across all
genres, all of which are listed below.
