5.0 out of 5 stars How to kill the DJ? Put this on!, 5 April 2005
By Mr. MJ Spitty "pinkmoon74" (Wallsend, near Newcastle, UK) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This album is, frankly, superb. CD 1, on first listen, can seem a bit daunting. So much music to explore! It can be a little overwhelming because there is so much going on.

But then you get into it, and its fantastic. The record collections these guys have must be amazing. Soft Cell, Gang of Four, Quarks, Joubert Singers, the Cramps, the Rapture, Banbarra, Langley Schools Music Project and many many more jostle for position, all seamed together by sleazy rhythm and dirty funk. If you like 2manyDJs, you'll love this.

CD 2 shows the tracks they couldn't leave out, and again, there is not a bad one on here. The essential 'Some Velvet Morning' by Lee Hazelwood and Nancy Sinatra is the pinnacle, but tracks by Arthur Russell, Nouvelle Vague, Sun City Girls, The Creepers and the Only Ones are also stand outs. But this albums full of them. Once you've heard them, you'll wonder how you lived without them!

If your'e a music fan, I urge you to buy this. You'll not make a better purchase all year.

5.0 out of 5 stars How Not To Kill The DJ, 20 Mar 2005
By A Customer
All I want to say is this album is fantastic - after months of false launch nights the boys finally brought home the goods. I prefer cd2 but cd1 is also great. the only negative point is its not as good as sundays at the subbie!!
